iPhone browsing

There is something about the newly announced Apple iPhone I cannot understand… Does it use the CSS media for screen or handheld?

I just came to think of it; Apple proudly announced that Safari on it's iPhone was not going to serve the lightweight mobile version, but the full Web. Well, does this mean mobile manufactures no are going to boycott handheld style sheets completely?

Recommended ad network: ZEDO

Most advertisement network uses information cookies stored in consumer's Web browsers and many other methods to track and chart consumer data to make consumer profiles. This is by many interpreted as a privacy intrusion, and I agree. It is uncomfortable to surf the Web when you cannot be allowed to do so without having someone looking over your shoulder on what you are doing.

Many advertisement networks such as Google's AdSence and others does not care about this, but "a new star" called ZEDO does.

RSS Terminology

Jakob Nielsen over at UseIT.com have some excellent sayings about the terminology for promoting content syndication in the form of news feeds for the average user:

The first, and strongest, guideline about news feeds is to stop calling them RSS. In our study, 82% of users had no idea what this term meant. Using implementation-oriented terminology is generally a bad idea, because most users don't understand (or care about) the underlying technology. It's better to use terms that indicate what the concept does for users. In this case, 'news feed' does this far better than 'RSS.'

Ask! X

My default search engine is Ask.com which I really like. As I was doing some searches just now I stumbled upon Ask! X. A new, intuitive and extremely inclusive new approach to search:

Domains are cheaper than boxer shorts

Is it just me, or is it not bit odd that domain names are cheaper than a pair of boxer shorts these days!?

I just came to think about it… It really is not weird at all that half the domain names you type into your Web browser's location bar is junk content. Domain names does not cost a thing! - of course everyone are trying to make a business out of nothing on a stick with advertisement sauce!
