Looking forward to better support for SVG

Wide spread support for Scalable Vector Graphics really is something every Web designer should look forward too! I have looked into, and experimented with the W3C approved, XML based, scalable image format, and I have concluded that it is truly a remarkable tool.
And the fact that you actually can write advanced graphical images in pure text!? Well, you had me from hello,
baby!
SVG is a image format based on mathematical calculations, and XML. Meaning that it is all text, and not a classical bitmap image. The advantages is that the image can be scaled infinitively. Meaning your Web design can look just as good on a hand held device as on a regular computer monitor.
It also means it can be manipulated with scripting, to render a completely different image, graphs, or even animations, just by - literally - pulling a few strings.
Currently the format is supported by Opera 8 or newer, and Firefox 2 or newer. But Konqueror will support it in KDE 4, and Safari in Mac OS 10.5.
I am really looking forward to better support for the format, so I can start creating some nice, scalable Web designs! ![]()
